(notice his pinky finger!) This is what I did all the time when I was little with my pinky fingers!

love this one!

This is what they do when I say "don't take your food out of the kitchen"! (they push it as far as they can!!!)

my little doll faced baby boy!

I LOVE this pic of Eli!!!

handsome little liamm~

It's so hard to get ALL THREE boys together in one pic at the same time, so I was excited to catch these!

Our 3 boys!

Brendan's New Glasses! What a cutie!

Brendan now wears glasses!!!

So yes...Brendan REALLy needs glasses! He has been sitting super close to the tv & whatnot, so I though, what the heck, let's get his eyes checked. Come to find out (after the LONGEST eye Dr app!) Brendan has a strong stigmatism in both eyes & is also farsighted!!! I felt so bad, and yet so relieved that the glasses will be helping him now! He looks SO cute & grown up in them? (can I really be that old already?!) lol!

Anyway, his visit to go pick them up yesterday was just hilarious! The first time they put the glasses on him, Brendan looked at the man for almost 30 seconds, just starred, and then exclaimed..."HEY! I can see you!" It was so funny! I thought we would have a hard time having a 4 yr old keep them on, but he just loves to wear them! We are so glad! He is such a cutie!

Teething Drauma!

Wow, I forgot how awful teething can be! You would think that with this being my 3rd child, and two of them with already full mouths of teeth, that I would be ready, but for some reason....I forgot what what it's like to have those tiny teeth come in!
Last Friday, I went to lunch with my kids photographer Shea. (who is actually investigating the church...another cool story I will share later) I haven't gone out to luch with anyone in such a long time, so I was excited for this "girl break!" Well, during our delicious Mexican, Eli had to poop. I realized I had forgottent the diaper bag, so I had to run in Walmart & buy all the goods. He is on an antibiotic so I have to get the poop off his bumb fast to avoid the awful rash. Eli started crying. The kind of crying where you know it's more than just baby whining. So, I got him all changed and he seemed fine, when he started up again. At this point I was out in the car (& it was SO freezing cold that day?!) I said goodbye to Shea & Eli just would not stop! I am really good with babies, ESP my OWN! Which is why I think this affected me like it did! A bit traumatic I guess you could say?! Well, 20 min went by, and he still had not stopped! I had tried everything! I was searching for the teething gel that I swear was in the cupholder the night b4, when I realized I had taken it in the house. (Urr!) Then the people parked next to me (who had parked WAY too close to my drivers door) had to come out RIGHT as I got out with Eli to put him in the back in his carseat. So, I have this nice hispanic family with like 6 kids, who didn't speak a word of english, waiting for me to get out of the way with my screaming baby! I hate letting a baby cry, I never do it, but at this point, there was no other choice. I had to get home. Well, my house is at least a 20 min drive from where I was at in North Logan, so there was NO way that was going to work with him screaming worse by the second. I think his screaming also sets off some post traumatic stuff with me from the last few months when he was in the ER with that awful condition, cuz that was the only time he has ever cried like that?!
So, the nearest place I could pull over at that point was a Kmart. (I don't really  like Kmarts) but I was desperate. I got Eli out of his car seat & just carried him in in my arms, as he continued to scream & half the store stared at me like I was a horrible mother or something?! I headed for the baby isle, which of course had to be CLEAR in the BACK of the store by the fitting rooms. I get there, searching for teething gel & binkies & ANYTHING I can think of to sooth my poor baby! I find the teething gel (which of course is like 3 bucks more than Walmart, I told you I didn't like Kmart) but I didn't care at this point, I was desperate! Right there on the isle, I opened up the box & just about broke OFF my back teeth trying to rip off the stupid tip that your supposed to "cut" off! I finally get a TINY part open, and have to squeeze as hard as I can to get any out. I put it on Eli's gums & he starts screaming LOUDER?! (that stuff is kinda spicy right at first!) I wait for his relief....but nothin! I go to the next isle, I skake rattle toys, and open a pckg of binkies, still nothing??! I open a can of those little puffs, he kind of liked em, but the started crying again?! Finally, I take all of these "opened items" to the back of the store to the fitting room. Luckily no one was back there, so I take the handicapped room with lots of space. I start goofing around with Eli in my arms in front of the mirrior and...he starts to calm down! Still cries, but a little less. I try to nurse him but that made it worse again! POOR baby! I just couldn't take it! Finally, I wrap him tightly in the blanket , hold him in the cradle position, and sway back & forth. I started to sing the lullabye that I have sung/ sing to all my boys called "Baby Mine" by Allison Krauss  & on the movie Dumbo. Literally...5 seconds later...soudnd ASLEEP!  Amazing?! I don't know if that was all that it would've taken all that time, but I didn't care, he was at ease! THANK HEAVEN! I then rolled our cart up tp the register (looking like a crazy lady I'm sure!) with all our opened goods, searched for coupons, and paid (all with one arm I might add!) The cashier was so kind & understanding, which was such a breathe of fresh air after all the critical looks I got earlier! I realized that I will NEVER judge a mother with a screaming baby again. (not that I go around doin gthat of course) But when I had only 1 baby, I would think inside like "gee, whydoesn't she just take that baby out & soothe him?" ......never again!!! Sometimes we really just do not know the circumstances, & we really cannot judge. I am SO glad Eli finally cut that little tooth!

Wow, I can't believe Christmas has already come & gone, & it's 2010!!! We had a wonderful Christmas! And thank heave, no one was sick! We seemed to catch something about 2 weeks b4 Christmas, but it was gone in about 24 hrs & Eli didnt get it! (i did NOT need one more thing for him!) I was so happy that we weren't sick on Christmas though! It was a wonderful, beautifully sunny day. The little boys were SO excited! We let them sleep in (they tried to stay up late the night b4 waiting for Santa!) it was so cute! When they woke up, we all went to the living room where Austen read the Christmas Story from the New Testament, b4 we opened gitfts. We do this every year so that the boys fully understand the true meaning. I was very surprised at how well they listened & participated, considering there were gifts under the tree to unwrap right at their fingertips!!! ( I was quite pleased as well, maybe we are doing something right?!!) Anyway, as Daddy read the story, I acted it out with this cute little nativity set we got at the dollar store 2 yrs ago) It worked out perfectly too, because my nice set was able to stay up on the shelf!
The boys were just fascinated by the story, & Brendan even started to join in with the parts of the story he knew! (our home teachers had brought us a gift basket the wk b4 with the animated Living Scriptures Nativity dvd, & they watched it over & over!) It really brought in a special spirit that morning, even for Austen & I as adults. :) It was a wonderful Christmas for all of us. We count our blessings, our little boys & each ither being at the top, & our loving Savior that came to this earth for us.

Merry Christmas Eli!

Merry Christmas Brendan 2009
